FREQUENLTY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything You're Wondering

Before You Book

Planning a wedding, corporate event or private celebration? Here are the answers to the questions I'm most often asked.

What type of magic do you perform?

+

I specialise in sophisticated close-up magic and mind reading that happens right in your guests' hands. Perfect for weddings, corporate events and luxury private parties.

How far in advance should we book?

+

Many Wedding dates are secured 12–18 months in advance. If you already have your venue booked, it's worth checking my availability as soon as possible. For Corporate events and Private Parties, especially busy periods like weekends and December please check my availability as early as possible to avoid disappointment.

Can you entertain large numbers of guests?

+

Absolutely. Whether you're hosting 30 guests or 300+, I'll recommend the perfect format so everyone enjoys plenty of unforgettable moments.

How long do you perform for?

+

Once you let me know a little more about your event and plans, I can come back with the perfect entertainment package to make the most off my time with you. Generally up to 40 people 1 hour is suitable, up to 70 people 2 hours and for larger events 3 hours.

Will you embarrass my guests?

+

Never. My style is warm, relaxed and professional. Guests are always treated with respect, and the magic is designed to amaze, not embarrass.

Do you need any equipment?

+

No stage, lighting or sound system is needed for close-up magic. I simply mingle naturally with your guests, creating amazing moments wherever they are.

Are you fully insured?

+

Yes. I hold full Public Liability Insurance and can provide documentation to your venue if required.

How much does it cost to hire a magician?

+

Every event is unique, so pricing is tailored to your specific requirements, including the type of performance, the duration, your venue and the number of guests. As a guide, 1 hour of close-up magic for smaller parties of up to 40 guests starts from £350, while 3 hours of close-up magic for larger events is typically £750. If you're unsure which option would best suit your event, I'd be delighted to help. Simply get in touch for a personalised, no-obligation quotation and I'll recommend the perfect package for your plans.

Questions Couples Ask Before Booking

Planning your wedding is exciting, but it's natural to have questions. Here are the answers to the things couples ask me most before booking.

Is a magician worth having at a wedding?

+

Many couples ask this before booking. The answer is simple: close-up magic transforms the moments between the big moments. Whether it's during the drinks reception, between courses or before the evening celebrations begin, it keeps guests entertained, encourages conversation and creates memories that last long after the wedding day. It's often one of the most talked-about parts of the entire celebration.

When is the best time to have a magician at our wedding?

+

There are several points during the day where close-up magic works brilliantly. The most popular is during the drinks reception while you're having your photographs taken, keeping guests entertained and helping everyone relax. Magic is also a fantastic addition during the wedding breakfast between courses, or in the evening as extra guests arrive and the dance floor is getting started.

Will our guests enjoy having a magician?

+

Absolutely. Close-up magic is designed to bring people together, spark conversations and create shared moments of amazement. It's a wonderful ice-breaker, especially for guests who may not know each other, and often becomes one of the most talked-about parts of the day.

Will you interrupt our wedding day or schedule?

+

Not at all. I work closely with your venue and photographer to ensure my performances fit naturally into the flow of your day. The magic enhances your celebrations without ever disrupting your timetable.

Can you perform while we're having our photographs taken?

+

Yes, and it's one of the most popular times to book me. While you're away with your photographer, I keep your guests entertained so they remain engaged rather than waiting around. It helps create a lively atmosphere from the very start of your reception.

Do you perform during the wedding breakfast?

+

Yes. Close-up magic between courses keeps guests entertained while they wait for the next course to be served. It creates a fantastic atmosphere throughout the room without interfering with the meal or speeches.

How many guests can you entertain?

+

Whether you're planning an intimate wedding with 30 guests or a large celebration with 300 or more, I'll recommend the ideal performance length to ensure as many guests as possible experience the magic.

Can children enjoy the magic too?

+

Of course. While my performances are designed primarily for adults, they're completely family-friendly and children often love watching the reactions just as much as the tricks themselves.

How far in advance should we book?

+

Many couples book their entertainment 12–18 months before their wedding, particularly for popular summer Saturdays. If you've secured your venue and date, it's worth getting in touch as soon as possible to check availability.

Do you work with our photographer and videographer?

+

Absolutely. In fact, close-up magic often creates some of the most natural, joyful photographs and candid reactions of the entire day. I always work around your photographer and videographer to help them capture those unforgettable moments.

Can you perform at our venue?

+

Almost certainly. I've performed at hotels, country houses, marquees, barns, castles and private venues across Sussex, Surrey, Kent, London and throughout the UK. If you're unsure, just ask and I'll be happy to advise.

Why should we hire a magician for our wedding?

+

A magician does far more than perform tricks. Great close-up magic breaks the ice, brings guests together and creates unforgettable shared experiences. While flowers, favours and table decorations are beautiful, the moments your guests remember most are often the ones that made them laugh, smile and say, "How on earth did he do that?"

How much does it cost to hire a wedding magician?

+

Every wedding is unique, so pricing is tailored to your specific requirements, including the type of performance, the duration, your venue and the number of guests. Drinks Reception and Evening Recpetion entertainment starts from £495, while Wedding Breakfast entertainment starts from £545. Combined packages covering multiple parts of your wedding day are also available, offering excellent value and a seamless magical experience from start to finish. If you're unsure which option would best suit your event, I'd be delighted to help. Simply get in touch for a personalised, no-obligation quotation and I'll recommend the perfect package for your plans.
